A man was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in Chicago's West Chatham neighborhood on Tuesday night.

Just before 11:30 p.m., Chicago police said the 66-year-old man was standing in the first block of West 79th Street, when a dark car pulled up and the driver fired shots. Video from the scene shows a large police presence near a Citgo gas station.

Chicago police said the man was shot multiple times in the chest and neck.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he later died. He was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Ronald Jones, of Chicago.

Pastor Donovan Price, who has often responded to homicide scenes, said the scene Tuesday night was "brutal."

"It's a sad, but common common scene," he said. "They say, oh he wasn't doing anything ever. He was the fix-it guy, the local guy. And so I heard it that was a mistaken identity, which I'm probably sure it is."

An employee of a neighboring beauty salon, who didn't want to be on camera, said Jones was a neighborhood mechanic and would work on cars in the parking lot.

No arrests have been made. Area 2 detectives were investigating.
