Lake Bluff, Illinois lifts boil water order
The village of Lake Bluff in Chicago's northern suburbs has lifted a precautionary boil order, a day after losing pressure in its water system.
Village officials said a glitch in its water system operating software caused a loss of pressure system-wide on Wednesday, prompting a precautionary boil water order for the entire village.
After water quality tests required by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency confirmed Lake Bluff's water quality is safe, the boil order was lifted Thursday morning, meaning residents no longer need to boil tap water before using it for drinking or cooking.
