A man who was charged in the fatal shooting of Oakland County Deputy Bradley Reckling has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder of a police officer and felony firearm, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.

Raymone Debose, of Clinton Township, was accused of killing Reckling, 30, on June 22, 2024, during a police investigation in Detroit. The guilty plea comes with a sentence agreement of 33 to 60 years in prison plus two years, according to the prosecutor's office.

Debose will be sentenced on Aug. 22.

He was initially charged with murder of a peace officer, receiving and concealing stolen property, four counts of carrying a concealed weapon, three counts of felony firearm, carjacking and conducting a criminal enterprise.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said the shooting was an "ambush."  An investigation showed Reckling was looking into a vehicle that was stolen from Red Oaks Waterpark in Madison Heights. Authorities said Reckling located the vehicle in Detroit and was behind it when the driver suddenly stopped and individuals exited the vehicle and opened fire.

The deputy was driving an unmarked vehicle that did not have a dash cam.

Two other people, Marquis Lamar Goins, of Detroit, and Karim Blake Moore, of Clinton Township, were also charged in connection with the shooting. Moore was sentenced to three to 20 years in prison for conducting a criminal enterprise, receiving and concealing stolen property (motor vehicle) and felony firearm after pleading guilty.

Goins pleaded guilty to carjacking, conducting criminal enterprise, and receiving and concealing a motor vehicle. Sentencing is scheduled for Wednesday.
