Chino Hills fire burning near 71 Freeway 10% contained
The brush fire burning in Chino Hills dubbed the Euclid Fire, has been 10% contained after fire crews stopped forward progress.
The 120-acre blaze sometime before 2:08 p.m. and quickly jumped the 71 Freeway, prompting a closure in both directions,
The freeway was reopened around 11:44 p.m. after firefighters were able to stop forward progress and "successfully established fire breaks around the perimeter," Cal Fire said.
Aerial footage from Wednesday afternoon showed flames approaching homes and fire retardant on the lanes of the 71.
According to , the closure caused a traffic backup to the 91 Freeway in Corona on the northbound lanes and to Pine Avenue on the southbound lanes.
Fire crews remained in the Prado Drainage area overnight, conducting mop-up operations and vegetation thinning.
