Officials initially said that six adults died, two people were rescued and taken to the hospital and two others were missing.

The search for the two missing people covered over 390 square miles and was suspended late Sunday morning pending further developments,  said.

Monday morning, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office revealed that the body of one of the two missing people had been recovered Sunday evening. Then, the last person who was unaccounted for was found deceased late Monday afternoon.

cameras captured blue skies for most of the day before a storm system moved through the area around 3 p.m., dropping snow in the area before blue skies returned about an hour later.

CBS Sacramento's First Alert Weather team tracked 40-45 mph winds in the area as a patch of moisture moved south over Lake Tahoe.

Coop Cooper, manager of the marina at Camp Richardson, south of D.L. Bliss State Park, spent 10 years in the Coast Guard and said it is crucial to come prepared before boating. Do not just rely on a cellphone. Have a radio, wear a life vest and take a boating course so you will know what weather to look out for.

Cooper said snow on the summer day was forecast in the north, but the conditions dramatically changed within 45 minutes when wind, rain and thunder rolled in.

"I have never seen anything like this in Lake Tahoe," Cooper said.

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, California State Parks, South Lake Tahoe Police Department and others assisted in the incident.

D.L. Bliss State Park is about 10 miles northwest of South Lake Tahoe and just north of Emerald Bay.
