A man is dead after a shooting in south Minneapolis late Friday night, police said.

Firefighters first tended to the man, who was found unconscious with a gunshot wound on the 2700 block of Bloomington Avenue around 11:20 p.m., the Minneapolis Police Department said.

The man, whom the Hennepin County medical examiner identified as 26-year-old Mario Martinez Ramirez-Hernandez, was taken to a hospital, where he died.

"Someone knows what happened to this man," Police Chief Brian O'Hara said. "We need anyone with information, no matter how minor it may seem, to share that information with us."

Police said multiple shots were fired, based on evidence at the scene. The department is investigating.

Across the river in St. Paul, three people were hurt in two separate shootings overnight.

4 others hurt in Saturday morning shootings

Three separate shootings in Minneapolis on Saturday morning left four people injured, one of them gravely.

The first and most serious shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. on the 300 block of Lake Street West. According to police, two victims from the shooting showed up at separate hospitals. One of them had life-threatening injuries, police said, while the other is expected to be OK.

Less than an hour after that shooting, police watching cameras saw a male firing shots on the 100 block of Fourth Street North. Shortly after, a man with a survivable gunshot wound showed up at Hennepin Healthcare.

Around 8:30 a.m., police responded to a reported shooting on the 4100 block of Colfax Avenue North. The victim was hospitalized, but should survive, police said. This shooting occurred during a fight, and the other party involved fled before police arrived.

No arrests have been made in any of these shootings.
