Authorities in Sacramento County said they arrested a man suspected of a break-in following a standoff at home Monday morning.

According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, a suspect broke into an unoccupied home on Sunnyview Lane in the community of North Highlands.

The couple who live at the home returned from the gym, saying a naked man was inside their home claiming he had a gun.

Shortly before 9 a.m., the sheriff's office said deputies K-9 and drone teams were on scene in an attempt to have the suspect surrender peacefully.

About 20 minutes later, the sheriff's office said the suspect was taken into custody with the help of a K-9.

After deputies cleared the scene, the couple gave a CBS Sacramento crew a tour of the damage the intruder left behind. They said after they fled, the man ransacked their home, attempted to take a shower, shaved in their bathroom, and even poured himself a glass of vodka from their bar.

"He shaved here. And this is the mug that he brought, this is Grey Goose. How great he was enjoying himself drinking Grey Goose here," the homeowner said.

The couple, who raised two boys and have grandchildren, said they'd always thought of their neighborhood as a safe environment, until today.

The suspect also helped himself to a few bananas from the kitchen, the couple noted, but they don't believe he stole anything.

Deputies did not release the suspect's name. The suspect will be transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail after being medically cleared.
