Sacramento police investigating homicide near 26th Avenue and Franklin Boulevard
Officers investigating the death of a man in Sacramento late Monday night have arrested a homicide suspect.
Sacramento police say officers responded near 26th Avenue and Franklin Boulevard just before 11 p.m. to investigate reports of an assault.
At the scene, officers found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries. No specific details about the man's injuries were released, but police say the man was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
Homicide detectives have now taken over the investigation. Early Tuesday afternoon, Sacramento police announced that they had arrested 34-year-old Enrique Gomez-Fonseca in connection to the incident.
Gomez-Fonseca has been booked into Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of homicide.
The name of the man has not yet been released by authorities.
