Dive team recovers body at Lewisville Lake after search
The body of a man believed to be about 50 years old was recovered Friday from Lewisville Lake, according to city officials.
Dive teams had been searching for the individual, who went underwater Friday afternoon near Hidden Cove Park. The Lewisville Fire Department dive team located the body at approximately 4:15 p.m.
According to The Colony Fire Department, crews from Lewisville and Hackberry assisted in the search. The emergency call was made at around 2:30 p.m., The Colony Fire Chief Scott Thompson said.
Officials said the man had gone off the docks near Hidden Cove Park and did not resurface.
The Lewisville Fire Department provided mutual aid during the search. The Colony was the lead agency, but now that the body has been recovered, the game warden will take over the investigation, officials said.
