Dallas police arrest 12 people after Gaza protest spills over into nearby building
Dallas police say 12 protestors were arrested Friday afternoon after they entered a nearby building, and Dallas police say the protestors became unruly as they attempted arrests.
The protest took place in Uptown Dallas around 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
Shortly after the event began, Dallas police began calling for backup from any available on-duty officers.
Dallas police later said that some of the protestors had gained access to a building, and when officers attempted an arrest, an unruly crowd gathered.
Nine people are charged with criminal trespass, two with interference with public duties, and one with interference, resisting, and assaulting a public servant.
One person arrested was transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons after bumping their head with another individual during their arrest.
The situation was quickly brought under control as additional officers arrived.
Protestors were seen leaving the area about 30 minutes later.
