North Texas heats up as July approaches
It's a toasty Friday with highs in the mid-90s and wind out of the south around 10 to 15 mph. By tonight, it will likely be dry for North Texas, however, a couple of spotty showers and storms are possible across the Red River Valley.
Any rain will come to an end as the sun sets. Temperatures will be a bit warmer in the afternoon hours, topping out near 94 degrees.
High pressure will build in over the weekend, boosting temperatures into the upper 90s and pushing "feels-like" temperatures into the triple digits.
Remember to walk the pups on the grass or maybe get them some protective gear for their paws them from burning on the hot pavement.
July starts off with a weak front and a few showers before high pressure returns heading into the holiday weekend. Some of the hottest weather of the year is on the way.
