Flooding possible as storms return to North Texas on Wednesday, Thursday
It's been an active day across North Texas, with 1-2 inches of rain falling, leading to several flash flood warnings being issued. More rain will dump on top of already saturated soils, which will lead to additional flooding concerns through Thursday. This is why First Alert Weather Days and flood watches are in effect through Thursday.
By the end of this week, an additional few inches of rain will fall. Totals could get up to 5 to 7 inches in localized spots. Please remember to never drive through flooded roadways; it can be very dangerous.
Moving into the weekend, a ridge of high pressure pushes into the Plains. This will bring warmer weather and slightly drier conditions for Father's Day weekend.
Father's Day will be partly cloudy with winds coming from the southwest around 5 to 10 mph. Conditions will likely stay dry, but an isolated storm will remain possible.
The active weather pattern continues throughout this week, but thankfully, by the start of the next week, pool weather will be back.
