Seasonally warm Wednesday ahead across North Texas
It's been a beautiful and dry day for most of North Texas.
Typically, July and August are the driest months of the year, but that has not been the case this year. In fact, 2025 has taken the title as the rainiest first half of July DFW has ever seen, with 13 days of rain. That equals just three days without rain so far.
The typical dry and hot July weather is back in the forecast. Temperatures will begin to climb over the next few days and there will be an abundance of sunshine. Dew point temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s through the rest of this week, resulting in the heat index values or the feels-like temperatures reaching the triple digits in the afternoons.
There is a tropical disturbance consisting of disorganized storms in the Gulf that is gradually moving to the west, and as of now, is likely to move into Louisiana starting on Thursday.
This system has the potential to bring residual moisture to North Texas.
Counties to the east have the highest potential of getting rain on Friday and Saturday, but the forecast will be entirely dependent on the track of the system.
