Los Angeles police search for mother after 4 children injured in crash near LAX
Four children were injured, including one with serious injuries after a crash near the Los Angeles International Airport Tuesday morning and now police are searching for the mother who was allegedly the driver.
The Los Angeles Police Department said the crash took place around 2 a.m. near the 9600 block of Sepulveda Boulevard. Four children and two adults were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
According to police, the driver collided with the center barrier before fleeing on foot from the scene with the children to a second location at 1400 E. 59th Pl.
The children were taken to the hospital from the second location. One of them was transported with serious injuries, police said. One of the adults also had injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The LAPD is continuing to search for the mother. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
