Police are looking for a driver who struck a pedestrian and then crashed into a sidewalk shed and injured more pedestrians on Thursday morning in the Bronx.

Surveillance videos shows a dark-colored vehicle, later described by police as a Ford Mustang, pausing briefly at the intersection of busy East 149th Street and Courtlandt Avenue in the Melrose section at around 11 a.m. Police say it then struck one person and jumped the curb and hit five others.

Chopper 2  as the NYPD taped off the corner and shut down a portion of Courtlandt Avenue to investigate.

Video also shows the driver back up and drive away down Courtlandt Avenue, leaving behind the badly damaged sidewalk shed and debris everywhere.

"Once I heard the noise I turned around and it was already on the curb," witness Melvin Pemberton said. "It immediately backed up and fled. The ambulance came very quickly. There was one going by and it stopped."

Police say all six victims were taken to Lincoln Hospital with minor injuries.

Police say they are now looking for the driver and a passenger after the two suspects allegedly got out of the Mustang and ran away on foot. The car was left behind with severe damage to the front.

The Department of Buildings says after inspecting the sidewalk shed officials did not find any structural stability issues, adding building management will be handling repairs.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). You can also submit a tip  or via DM on Twitter, . All calls are kept confidential.
