Saturday was a turbulent day at Philadelphia International Airport with more than 300 flight delays and 70 cancellations reported, according to FlightAware.

The Federal Aviation Administration's  indicated PHL experienced a ground stop for American Airlines and subsidiary airlines' flights that was later lifted early Saturday afternoon. It appeared the ground stop went into effect just before 11:50 a.m. Saturday.

"Systems have returned after a brief electrical issue at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). Our teams worked quickly with the airport's electricians to resolve the issue, and we apologize to our customers for the inconvenience," a spokesperson for American Airlines told CBS News Philadelphia in a statement.

According to American Airlines, three flights were canceled due to a brief electrical issue. The airline urges customers to check their flight status online or in the company's app before traveling to PHL.

Data from , a flight tracking website, shows 121 American Airlines flights were delayed and 32 were canceled on Saturday. 

A representative for American Airlines said most of the airline's cancellations are "due to the effects from weather the airport experienced [Friday]." There were also delays on Piedmont Airlines, an American Airlines subsidiary.

The total number of flight delays within, into, or out of Philadelphia International Airport on Saturday was 337, with 75 cancellations.
