Mostly cloudy skies, spotty showers and temperatures in the low 90s across North Texas
A few showers sparked up across North Texas on Wednesday. This is great news, especially since we are in one of the driest months of the year.
More showers and storms are likely moving into the next few days due to the atmospheric setup. A high-pressure system is over far eastern Texas and Louisiana, which is pumping in moisture from the Gulf around it.
The moisture combined with the heat will continue to spark up afternoon and evening storms through Friday.
The cloud cover and the rain-cooled air will also make temperatures slightly cooler than average over the next few days, topping out in the lower 90s. Though the rain may put a damper on some outdoor plans, it is at least giving us a break from the heat.
The Fourth of July will be hot, breezy, and cloudy. A few storms are likely across North Texas from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. As the sun sets and it's time for the fireworks show, conditions look to dry out; however, a few lingering showers will still remain a possibility.
The rest of the weekend will mostly stay dry with a slight chance for a few pop-up storms in the afternoon. Temperatures look to stay mild in the mid-90s.
