More rainfall will be possible across North Texas within the upcoming days, especially cities along and to the west of the I-35 corridor.
An influx of Gulf moisture combined with the lift from the stationary front and daytime heating will initiate more afternoon and evening storm opportunities throughout the week. Not everyone will see rain, but there is a potential for brief downpours; no severe weather expected.
Independence Day looks to be cloudy, hot, and breezy. Highs will be in the low to middle 90s; however, the heat index will be in the triple digits.
There will also be a breeze from the south with gusts up to 20 mph. A few showers and storms are possible, but as of now, storms do not look to impede any fireworks shows.
The Fourth of July weekend will be hot and steamy. A ridge of high pressure builds and brings temperatures into the upper 90s. Stay safe, drink plenty of water, and enjoy the holiday weekend.
